This workshop will cover advanced BrainMaster training techniques including use of the Event Wizard, complex protocols, adaptive thresholding, connectivity training, z-score training, and MINI-Q based assessments.
This panel will be based on a brief historical and technical overview of the last 100 years of science, with a view toward anticipating and discussing developments over the next century. In particular, work in physics (field theory, quantum mechanics, nonlinear dynamics) can help to provide some sense of the types of developments that may be seen, and how the brain, mind, and neurofeedback technology may fit into the new order that is sure to emerge.
Neurophysics is a label applied to an interdisciplinary pursuit of an integrated understanding of the brain and mind. It incorporates a great deal of “old” science, but it is a new science for the future. This talk will describe the emerging concepts and paradigms, and provide a perspective for viewing the developments which may be expected during the next century. Key aspects include information theory (“high-information” physics), self-organizing systems, multidimensional field potentials, and the breakdown of classical causality.
Neurophysics is an approach to brain and mind that incorporates concepts of energy, information, and causality. It is applicable to optimal performance and psi phenomena, as well as normal brain function. This workshop will explore specific EEG phenomena that are related to highly optimal functioning and psi phenomena (telepathy, clairvoyance, healing, etc.), as a means to detect and train these qualities using neurofeedback.
This course will provide technical background and practical applications for training the whole brain using EEG feedback techniques including various measures of coherence, synchrony, and asymmetry, using a variety of methods inluding Z-score based training and BiHemiSynchronous protocols. Couples work will be covered, including joint synchrony training, group feedback, and competitive training paradigms.
Details:
Post-Conference #334): Advanced BrainMaster Workshop Detailed hands-on workshop for BrainMaster users who are interested in learning the latest new software and hardware capabilities. The new Atlantis hardware and 3.0 software will be covered in this workshop.
Panel #330): Brain, Mind, and Neurofeedback – The Next 100 Years The panel will describe the major historical and technical factors that underlie the current field of neurofeedback. Discussants will explore how certain new developments may become possible, as a result of significant further scientific and engineering efforts. The panel will then discuss how the future of the science of the brain and mind may impact our daily lives, and the society and culture in which we live.
Plenary #331): Neurophysics - a unified approach to brain and mind Neurophysics considers consciousness and mental realm as a branch of physics, one that can be quantified and applied. It endeavors to apply knowledge from a full range of disciplines, from theoretical physics and chemistry, through behavior and conditioning, cultural anthropology, philosophy, and language. Through a comprensive approach to these areas, it is possible to create a consistent understanding that includes elements of science from virtually all areas, and interrelationships between them.
Workshop #332): Neurophysics of optimal and psi performance In this workshop, we will investigate EEG patterns that have been associated with optimal mental performance, including psi phenomena. In particular, specific experiences and research results will be presented that describe EEG phenomena that are observed in connection with deep meditation, episodes of telepathy, clairvoyance, and energy healing. We will describe specific protocols that are targeted at producing enhanced states. A general model that appeals to a sequence of activation/relaxation/synchrony/phenomenology will be presented, and framed in terms of EEG training protocols. Joint work, such as with couples involved in telepathy, or healing, will be discussed.
EEG Foundations Course #397): Technical Foundations of Neurofeedback
Workshop #333): Whole Brain and Couples/Group Training using EEG Connectivity This workshop will cover the basic principles of two-channel training including coherence, synchrony, spectral correlation, comodulation, phase, and sum-channel training. It will include technical and practical explanations of these metrics, as well as methods used to train them. Practical training protocols will be demonstrated, including new protocols such as the “BiHemiSynchronous” protocol that combines the effects of bihemispheric training with interhemispheric connectivity training, and the four-channel "QuadHemiSynch" protocol. Couples (two person) joint, group, and competitive synchronous training will also be explained and demonstrated.
