Plenary #188): LOVE STORIES AS MODELS FOR TRANSFORMATION AND COURAGE
Sex and romance not only heighten a story’s emotional appeal, they offer a powerful tool for understanding fear, longing, inner conflict, courage, growth and fulfillment. As fictional lovers step out of their safe identities and risk the terror and vulnerability of exposing their wounds and fears in order to find passion and fulfillment, they give us models for facing our deepest fears and finding our destiny.
Workshop #162): STRIPPING AWAY THE ARMOR TO FIND THE HIGHER SELF
We all respond to the pain and fear of wounds from the past be creating identities – protective behaviors and personalities that keep us in our comfort zones and protect us from every again experiencing those real or imagined threats. The problem is that while this emotional armor keeps us in our comfort zone, it prevents us from real fulfillment – from achieving our destinies.
This workshop will lead participants through the process of understanding and replicating the ways movie heroes face their fears, achieve their goals and transform their lives, and the lives of their clients or patients.
Plenary #187): USING SCREENWRITING PRINCIPLES TO CAPTIVATE YOUR AUDIENCE
Successful screenwriters have mastered the art of seducing the reader in the first ten minutes of a movie. By using the same tools of character, empathy, setting, mood, fear, longing, desire and conflict, you can immediately capture your audience for any speech, lecture, or professional presentation.
